As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents and supporting their overall well-being.
Accountability Objective:As an LPN at Verve Senior Living, you will be responsible for enriching the lives of our residents by ensuring they can make their own choices and lead full lives as independently as possible. You will work under the direction of the Health & Wellness Manager to provide resident care, supervise care given by attendants, and assist in directing LPNs in all levels of care.
Background/Qualifications:- Minimum of grade 12 education required
- Recognized nursing license (LPN licensing) and in good standing with College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
- Certified in Emergency First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications
- Previous experience working as an LPN in a healthcare setting is considered an asset
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, in the English language
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and evaluate and meet resident care needs
- Dependable, responsible, and ability to work well with others in a team environment
- Participate in and adhere to continuous quality improvement standards
- Assess the needs of individual residents and organize care plans to promote maximum resident independence
- Participate in pre-move-in and ongoing assessments on the health and wellness needs of individual residents
- Ensure resident files are established with proper documentation and safe practices related to medication administration processes
- Update residents' care plans every 6 months or as required
- Carry out planned assignments as designated by the Health and Wellness Manager/Director of Care/Health and Wellness Supervisor
- Supervise care given by attendants or designated staff
- Distribute medications and provide treatments to residents in accordance with current and approved standards of care
- Answer emergency calls from residents and provide assistance where possible
- Provide direct resident care in accordance with current and approved standards of care
- Comply with infection control protocols as directed
- Act as a leader and help develop employees to ensure an adequate level of service and job standard are achieved
- Maintain accurate records of nursing observations and procedures performed
- Assist in maintaining a neat, clean, and safe environment for residents and personnel
