Your Opportunity:

At Alberta Health Services, we are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team of healthcare professionals. As a member of our interprofessional team, you will utilize your nursing processes, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to provide safe, quality patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement care plans that support clients' needs and goals
  • Provide direct nursing care to clients in their homes or community settings
  • Collaborate with clients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care
  • Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess, plan, and evaluate client care
  • Operate a laptop computer and mobile phone to document client information and communicate with teams
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
  • Two years of recent home care or acute care experience in the last five years
  • Advanced wound care knowledge and experience required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with acute clients and/or long-term clients with a focus on chronic disease management
  • Experience in providing case management services
  • Experience in Home Parenteral Therapy (HPT), wound, skin, and ostomy care, palliative support, and client teaching
