Community Hospital Inpatient Physician

About the Role
The West Coast General Hospital is seeking physicians to provide high-quality patient care as part of our Inpatient Physician team. This role requires physicians to act as the Medical Resident Physician (MRP) for unattached and unassigned inpatients to the Family Practice service.
Key Responsibilities
- Rounding on inpatients to the Family Practice service, arranging service transfers, and inter-facility repatriations
- Discharge planning and responding to urgent calls for admitted patients under this service
- Attending and participating in the daily structured team report, supporting allied teams in the hospital and community
- Providing consult services to on-site ambulatory clinics, including Medical Day Care, and virtual outreach consult services to rural health sites and remote Indigenous communities
Requirements
- Evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and consultation for patients of all ages with a wide variety of illnesses, diseases, injuries, and functional disorders
- Dependent on successful completion of relevant training and/or privileging criteria, opportunities may exist to provide First Call for After-hours OR Assist, MAID physician services, and NTP services
