At Agnico Eagle Mines Limited, we are seeking a Mine Maintenance Co-Op Trainee to join our team in the Detour Lake Mine, a world-class gold mine in Canada. As a Co-Op Trainee, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, collaborating with experienced professionals to ensure the smooth operation of our mobile mining fleet.

The successful candidate will be part of the Mobile Maintenance Planning & Reliability Team, where they will be exposed to planning and reliability fundamentals of an open-pit mobile mining fleet. Our team is responsible for maintaining a diverse fleet of equipment, including CAT 6060 and 7495 mining shovels, CAT 798AC, 795F, and 777F haul trucks, and Epiroc PV271, DM45, and D65 production drills.

About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a Co-Op Trainee to gain hands-on experience in a real-world mining environment. You will work closely with our experienced team members to develop your skills and knowledge in maintaining and troubleshooting complex equipment. As a Co-Op Trainee, you will be responsible for conducting regular and formal downtime analysis for critical equipment, reviewing condition monitoring activities, and providing analysis and interpretation of maintenance trends and variances.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting regular and formal downtime analysis for critical equipment;
  • Reviewing condition monitoring activities related to all Mine Maintenance equipment;
  • Providing analysis and interpretation of maintenance trends and variances;
  • Developing maintenance procedures, analyzing existing procedures, and making recommendations to improve effectiveness;
  • Participating in failure analysis as required by reviewing master data in SAP, WENCO, Power BI, and various other data sources.
Qualifications

We are looking for a Co-Op Trainee who has completed a minimum of 2 years in a CEAB-accredited Engineering program at a Canadian university. Mechanical, Mining, and Electrical disciplines are preferred. Experience working at a remote work site is an asset. You should have mechanical and electrical technical knowledge through formal education and/or extracurricular activities. Additionally, you should have computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite and other basic software, with the ability to learn new systems.

Estimated salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
