About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Mine Maintenance Lead Hand to join our Mobile Maintenance team at the Detour Lake Mine site.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing support to the Mobile Maintenance team by overseeing and providing expertise for all mechanical and electrical activities related to mining and mobile equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coach team members in the achievement of maintenance safety and productivity targets;
  • Develop and implement standards and procedures that meet all statutory and regulatory requirements;
  • Assist in the preparation of maintenance operating cost forecasts, budgets, and monthly maintenance reports;
  • Schedule and plan electrical and mechanical maintenance to maximize equipment availability;

Qualifications

  • Ontario provincial or inter-provincial (Red Seal) trade certificate is preferred;
  • 10 years' experience in a maintenance capacity;
  • 5 years' experience in a supervisory and/or lead hand role;
  • Sound interpersonal and management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team of employees;
  • Experience with open pit mining equipment, with electrical shovels and drills being a strong asset;
  • Experience working at a remote work site is an asset.
