The Director, Contractor Management plays a pivotal role within Supply Chain, accountable for ensuring the application, compliance, and advancement of the Contractor Management program. This includes interfacing and executing all requirements with those of the Director of Construction FSM, encompassing:
- Emergency Preparedness
- OSH
- Commissioning and Construction
- Engineering
- Legal and Ethics
- CNSC regulation requirements related to contractor/worker qualifications
- Security
- Environmental
- Supply Chain
- Quality
This role reports directly to the General Manager Supply Chain and requires providing visible leadership both functionally and in the field. As Chairman of the Company's Contractor Management Steering Group, you will coordinate a company-wide approach and maintain awareness across various business areas.
Qualifications and ExperienceA relevant university degree in Business Management, Commerce, Law, or Occupational Health & Safety, accompanied by 15+ years of experience in projects, contracting, health and safety, and supply chain management at a senior level. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
Essential Skills and Qualifications15+ years of experience in contracting, procurement, and supply chain management, project management, safety, construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a senior management capacity. You should have extensive experience in project contracting within complex, technical, and regulated environments, including Contracting lifecycles, EPC, Design & Build, Design-Bid-Build construction models, and formation of complex, multi-million dollar capital projects or programs.
Abilities and CompetenciesYou will resolve highly complex and specialized issues within the team, business mission, and with contractors/sub-contractors. Developing relationships at senior levels is essential, as is having a strong business sense and extensive knowledge of industry risks and regulations. Ideally, you should have experience in both private and public sectors, including nuclear, and have worked as both client and contractor.
Industry-Specific KnowledgeYou possess a robust understanding and qualification related to OHSA in both provincial and federal jurisdictions and have strong business sense and extensive knowledge of risks associated with working in a nuclear or regulated environment. Managing contracts and contractors' performance in complex services, construction, technology, or process-based industries is also crucial.
