Job Title: Payroll Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Administrator to join our team at CB Canada. As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for processing the full cycle of payroll, including weekly payrolls, union, non-union, and salary payments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process weekly payrolls, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Ensure all government and 3rd party payments are issued accurately, weekly and monthly
  • Prepare weekly journal entries pertaining to payroll
  • Year End – balance, prepare and issue year-end documentation for all provincial and federal requirements
  • Review to ensure all new hire and terminations are processed accordingly
  • Prepare record of employments and manual cheques, as needed
  • Prepare T4s, T4As, and pension adjustments for year-end balancing
  • Identify process improvement initiatives and define standards for new processes
  • Act as backup for the Payroll Team
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of payroll experience in a fast-paced unionized environment
  • 2 years' experience with ADP Workforce Now
  • PCP Certified or in progress
  • Strong understanding of Payroll, HR, processes, and data, including CBA agreements and benefit procedures
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communications
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in high-pressure, sensitive situations
  • Ability to meet aggressive deadlines
  • Strong time management skills
  • Intermediate MS Office skills
