What will you do?

You will play a key role in a dynamic and passionate team, collaborating on various geotechnical investigation, study, and design projects in the renewable energy, hydroelectric, transportation, buildings, climate change, and mining markets.

Your Contribution

Your core responsibilities in this role will include:

  1. Preparing proposals and qualification packages;
  2. Developing plans, schedules, and other project elements;
  3. Carrying out technical procedures and work plans;
  4. Managing and/or drafting all document deliverables for your projects;
  5. Attending and/or leading project management, client, office, and team meetings;
  6. Planning, monitoring, and supervising geotechnical investigations involving exploratory drilling and/or wells, soil sampling, monitoring of well and piezometer installations, and in-situ testing;
  7. Designing, calculating, and preparing deliverables for geotechnical studies of various sizes;
  8. Processing, compiling, and analyzing data;
  9. Carrying out project administration tasks as required, including timesheet generation and project invoicing;
  10. Supervising, supporting, and/or mentoring project team members;
  11. Ensuring all Englobe health and safety policies and procedures are rigorously followed, and taking part in H&S inspections;
  12. Marketing Englobe's services by developing and taking part in business development initiatives for new clients and prospects.
Your Profile

Do you have what we're looking for? Here are the qualifications you must have for this role:

  1. Academic: A university degree in geological engineering, civil engineering, or a related field; Must be a member of OIQ.
  2. Experience: This role requires a minimum of 5 years' experience.

These are the skills and expertise we're looking for:

  1. Superior document management abilities, and experience writing proposals, specifications, case studies, technical and non-technical reports;
  2. Good written and verbal English skills, and superior communication skills;
  3. Strong time management, organizational, and multitasking skills;
  4. Superior knowledge of Microsoft Office;
  5. Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle;
  6. Previous experience in an engineering environment, and with geotechnical drilling, settlement analyses, slope stability assessments, and civil construction would be an asset.

Lastly, this role is for you if you have the following soft skills and qualities:

  1. Flexibility and adaptability with scheduling changes and available for overtime, evening, or weekend work during peak periods, as required;
  2. Able to travel between worksites as required;
  3. A strong commitment to consistently delivering high-quality work;
  4. Calm, consistent professionalism and objectivity to support colleagues and clients with varying needs;
  5. Interest in mentoring/sharing knowledge and expertise with junior team members;
  6. Tact and diplomacy to handle difficult situations and maintain positive working relationships.
