Job Title: Certified Social Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Social Worker to join our team at the Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing support and services to our clients.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing counseling and therapy services to clients, as well as supervising other social workers and staff. You will also be involved in program planning, public education, and community outreach.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide counseling and therapy services to clients
  • Supervise other social workers and staff
  • Plan and implement programs of assistance for clients
  • Provide public education and consultation regarding counseling services
  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams and advocate on behalf of clients
  • Conduct social research and evaluate the effectiveness of counseling services
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Social Work or related field
  • Provincial certificate of registration
  • Membership in a provincial association of social workers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
