Job Title: Certified Social Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Social Worker to join our team at the Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre. As a key member of our community, you will play a vital role in providing support and services to our clients.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing counseling and therapy services to clients, as well as supervising other social workers and staff. You will also be involved in program planning, public education, and advocacy. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide counseling and therapy services to clients
  • Supervise other social workers and staff
  • Plan and implement programs of assistance for clients
  • Provide public education and consultation regarding counseling services
  • Advocate on behalf of clients in courts and hearings
  • Lobby for solutions to problems affecting client groups
  • Conduct social research and evaluations
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Social Work or related field
  • Provincial certificate of registration
  • Membership in a provincial association of social workers
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
