Job Summary

As a Software Development Manager at Amazon, you will lead a talented team of software developers on exciting projects for customers, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive customer outcomes. You will be responsible for researching leading-edge use cases in analytics and data science, and working with engineers, product managers, analysts, and data scientists to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of software developers on exciting projects for customers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive customer outcomes
  • Research leading-edge use cases in analytics and data science
  • Work with engineers, product managers, analysts, and data scientists to achieve project goals
  • Partner with product or program management teams to define and develop multi-tier web services
  • Communicate with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements and describe software product features
  • Recruit, hire, mentor, and manage teams of software engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering team management
  • 7+ years of experience in engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and managing teams of software engineers
