Assistant Store Manager

As a key member of the adidas store management team, the Assistant Store Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the store meets its operational, business, and personnel targets. This includes overseeing the daily operation of the store, ensuring compliance with company policies and government legislation, and supporting the Store Manager in managing the day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Store Manager in managing the store's operations to achieve key performance indicators and profit and loss expectations.
- Communicate and demonstrate adidas brand values, attitude, and culture to employees and customers.
- Implement corporate programs, initiatives, and strategies consistently across the store.
- Assist the Store Manager in developing succession, recruiting, hiring, and training plans to reduce store turnover.
- Develop staff by providing performance feedback, coaching, and training opportunities to meet store and company objectives.
- Promote a high-performance culture by setting clear expectations, holding employees accountable, and creating an effective work environment.
- Cooperate with the Store Manager to develop action plans for the store and achieve objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
- Take accountability for training and executing in-store operations, including business, operations, sales/customer service, and visual merchandising.
- Perform or assist in recordkeeping associated with applicants, new hires, payroll, performance appraisals, salary reviews, counselling, disciplinary actions, and employee separations.
- Produce results under various market conditions and overcome barriers to the company's success.
- Shop competition regularly to ensure competitiveness in the marketplace.
- Work with the Store Manager to ensure inventory levels and styling selections maximize sales.
- Support the Store Manager in maintaining wage costs and overall expense control within assigned guidelines.
- Assume responsibility for accuracy of cash management and minimize shrink control within the store.
- Assume responsibility for store and product security using provided systems and monitoring their effectiveness.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures relating to NSB (POS system) integrity and maintain confidentiality of retail operating information.
- Ensure compliance with government legislation applicable to employment standards and health and safety guidelines.
- Maintain the store and premises in a safe, organized, and clean manner in accordance with adidas and legislated standards.
- Develop seamless communication with other retail store managers.
- Adhere to visual merchandising guidelines.
Requirements:
- College or University degree and 1 year of Retail experience, preferably in the Sporting Apparel & Footwear industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior management and key experience preferred.
Compensation:
The anticipated low and high end of the base pay range for this position is $50,000-$60,000. Actual salary will be based on various factors, such as a candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and competencies, and proficiency for the role.
