Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Construction Operations Specialist to join our team at Mar-Tec Woodworking LTD. This role involves overseeing the safe and efficient movement of construction materials, equipment, and personnel on our work sites.

About the Job:

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks. The successful candidate will be responsible for loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials, as well as erecting and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Scaffolding and Formwork: Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades as required.
  • Mixing and Spreading Materials: Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt as directed by supervisors.
  • Machinery Operation: Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction, including those involved in material handling and mixing.
  • Site Management: Direct traffic at or near construction sites to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Clean and pile salvaged materials, and maintain a clean and organized work site.

Work Conditions: The successful candidate will work in a variety of environments, including confined spaces, dusty areas, and fast-paced work sites. They will also be required to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs) and work in a team environment.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Team Player: Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Physical Demands: The ability to lift, bend, and move materials safely is required.
  • Specializations: Experience in industrial, commercial, and institutional construction, as well as residential construction specialization, is an asset.
  • Education and Training: A high school diploma or equivalent, and relevant training or certification, is required.
