About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our Logistics team at Pomerleau. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our company's vehicles, equipment, machinery, and other heavy equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine and inspect equipment for faults and malfunctions, using computerized and other monitoring equipment to determine the extent of repairs required.
- Adjust and repair or replace defective parts, fixtures, or components using hand or power tools.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure it is in good working order and that the repairs comply with the manufacturer's requirements.
- Produce an inspection certificate after repair and inspection.
- Clean and lubricate equipment and perform other routine maintenance.
- Discuss vehicle operations, general condition, and future repairs with supervisor.
- Attend training courses related to the acquisition of new equipment and machinery.
Requirements
- A Heavy Vehicle Mechanic certification.
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience working on large engine machinery.
- Familiarity with the CAT ET diagnostic system and various types of heavy machinery used in the construction industry.
