We are seeking a Health Care Aide - Surgery Float Pool to join our team at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. This is a dynamic and fast-paced acute care program that requires a skilled and compassionate Health Care Aide to provide patient care services as an unregulated worker under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist patients with their hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs
• Transport patients, equipment, and specimens to other areas of the hospital
• Maintain the inventory of supplies and assist nurses with routine care to meet patients' needs
Qualifications:
• Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory
• Current BLS-HCP taken within the last 12 months is required, issued from Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada
• Basic computer and email skills required
• English language proficiency (verbal and written)
• Organizational and time management skills
