The Unit Manager plays a crucial role in providing clinical leadership and operational management for patient care units at Alberta Health Services. This position requires strong clinical nursing skills, leadership experience, and the ability to facilitate change and improve quality care.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide clinical leadership and operational management for patient care units
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders
- Implement and sustain collaborative care and appropriate scope of practice in clinical operations
- Coach, mentor, and lead team members in the delivery of quality care and clinical quality improvements
- Resource utilization will be relevant, efficient, and effective
- Active registration with CARNA required
- Current BCLS-HCP required
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required
- Demonstrated experience in clinical nursing practice, of which a minimum of 5 years clinical nursing experience is required
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role (e.g. Charge Nurse, Nurse Educator, Professional Practice Lead, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience in perinatal nursing, specifically post partum care
