The Chief Operating Engineer will be a key member of the Waterford Executive team, responsible for the safe management, operation, and maintenance of our facilities. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual who is passionate about their work and committed to delivering exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities- Plant Operations Management: Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of our facilities, including the management of plant production spreadsheets and computerized maintenance management systems.
- Leadership and Supervision: Direct, supervise, and train shift engineers, shift operators, and operating assistants in their work duties and responsibilities.
- Staff Management: Manage staff, including interviewing, selecting, and hiring, as well as making decisions and recommendations on staff-related matters.
- Contractor and Consultant Management: Manage the safety of contractors working in our facilities and make decisions on terminating projects or dismissing contractors who fail to comply with our HSE guidelines.
- Capital and Operating Budgets: Prepare and monitor capital and operating budgets, ensuring that expenses are adhered to.
- Reporting and Communication: Report on progress of capital projects and operating expenses on a monthly basis and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to staff.
- Education: Bachelor of Engineering degree.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience operating in a first-class plant and possessing a 1st class operating engineer ticket.
- Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, ability to recommend and implement strategies, plans, policies, and procedures, and experience in managing plant operating and maintenance Key Performance Indicators.
