About the Role

This exciting opportunity offers a chance to contribute to the development of cutting-edge transportation projects across Western Canada. As a Transportation Operations Engineer, you'll play a key role in analyzing complex traffic patterns, identifying issues, and creating data-driven solutions to optimize traffic flow.

You will be responsible for collecting, preparing, and analyzing both structured and unstructured data to support diverse transportation analyses. Your expertise in data management techniques and proficiency in specialized software packages will enable you to develop and optimize traffic models for efficient and realistic simulations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive analysis support throughout project lifecycles, from proposal development to construction phase, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
  • Synthesize and integrate data from municipal, provincial, and federal sources to inform and enhance project insights.
  • Develop and optimize traffic models using advanced software packages, aiming for the most efficient and realistic traffic flow simulations.
  • Document analysis workflows and processes meticulously, ensuring replicability and adherence to best practices in transportation analysis.
  • Actively contribute to and maintain codebases for existing workflows in VBA, Python, and PowerQuery, enhancing automation and efficiency of data processing tasks.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in transportation operations, traffic engineering, or transportation planning, with a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related field required.
  • Proven track record as a Transportation Operations Engineer or in a comparable role within the industry, with a solid understanding of traffic patterns and transportation systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in parsing datasets using programming languages such as Python and R, along with advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications, including PowerBI, Power Query, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and adapt to evolving project requirements, maintaining high levels of organization and attention to detail across multiple concurrent tasks.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus additional benefits including extended health and dental coverage, healthcare spending account, and RRSP matching.
