Mailroom Clerk Position

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Mailroom Clerk to join our team at Randstad Canada. As a Mailroom Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of our mailroom, ensuring timely and accurate processing of mail and packages.
Key Responsibilities:- Set up and maintain mailing lists, address and postal code files using a PC and related software.
- Advise clients on the most efficient and cost-effective mail-out method and cost.
- Operate a mailing labeling machine or direct access printer to label or address envelopes.
- Prepare requisitions for mail-outs, schedule, pack and arrange for shipping of mail-outs.
- Receive, record and advise addressees of registered mail, maintain mailout project records and files.
- Perform minor maintenance/adjustments and cleans addressing related machines.
- Sort, weigh and determine postage, special treatment, courier needs etc. for out-bound mail.
- Prepare waybills for courier services and related tracking records.
- Operate postage meter, envelope sealing and parcel wrapping machines to affix postage to envelopes and package envelopes, parcels etc.
- High school graduation.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Ability to set up and prepare mailing lists as well as prepare reports and postage reconciliations.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a PC, related application software programs (such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Access).
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to answer queries regarding mail-out methods.
- Physical ability and mobility to lift and move mail, parcels and mailing containers, packing cribs, etc.
Loading and operation of mailing and addressing related equipment and sorting mail involves some exposure to noise, dust etc. in a well-lit and heated mailing room environment. Job requires the physical ability to lift and move mail, parcels and mailing containers, packing cribs etc.
