Bombardier Transportation GmbH is a global leader in the design and manufacturing of innovative trains and aircraft. We are currently seeking an experienced Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Sciences or Physics, and at least 8 years of experience in EMC, including work and/or academic experience. They should also have a minimum of 4 years of working experience with systems or structures EMC qualification/certification in the aerospace industry.

As an EMC Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our aircraft from internal and external electromagnetic threats. This includes EMI, HIRF, LIRF, Lightning, and Electrostatic Charge. You will lead complex engineering assignments, perform detailed analyses using similarity assessments, simulation, and analytical methods, and help drive the resolution of electromagnetic related issues to support EMC certification and sustaining activities.

In addition, you will define the scope of work and EMC effort for engineering projects, plan activities/milestones, highlight technical risks, and complete tasks according to priorities. You will also analyze new and/or modified system or structure designs to assess technical engineering impacts and propose EMC compliance approaches.

We offer a competitive salary of $140,000 - $170,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits such as insurance plans, retirement savings plan, and employee assistance program. Our hybrid work model allows for remote work from home and on-site work in either Toronto, Ontario or Montreal, Quebec.

This is a full-time position reporting to the EMC Section Chief within the Aircraft Design and Development department. The successful candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, be able to apply their expertise to reach creative solutions within a multi-disciplinary group, and have good oral and written communication skills.
