Job Summary:

Taylor Corporation is seeking a skilled Slitter Equipment Operator to join our team in Stratford, ON (Canada) facility. As a key member of our International Graphics, ULC team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating the slitter machine, ensuring high-quality production and maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate the slitter machine according to job specifications, ensuring accurate production records and identifying potential issues.
  • Load and unload rolls of printed material safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety procedures and regulations.
  • Inspect materials for defects and ensure proper alignment during slitting, maintaining a high level of quality control.
  • Monitor the slitting process and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Maintain accurate production records and identify any potential issues, providing regular updates to the team.
  • Keep the slitter machine clean and well-maintained, performing routine maintenance tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • Ability to set adjustable mechanisms to required tolerances, demonstrating strong mechanical skills.
  • High degree of math skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate production records.
  • High degree of mechanical ability, with the ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas.
  • Good reading ability, with the ability to regularly move up to 25+ pounds (lift, push, pull and/or carry).
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas so others will understand, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or the equivalent, with a strong foundation in mathematics and science.
  • Ability to work with very close tolerances, demonstrating precision and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with team members, ensuring seamless collaboration and coordination.
  • High degree of analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex problems.
  • Good color discernment, with the ability to accurately inspect materials for defects.
