About the Opportunity
The Department of Computer and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) is seeking an exceptional candidate for a full-time tenure stream position in Statistical Sciences. This appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to an undergraduate curriculum in the health sciences by teaching, researching, and mentoring students
- Maintain an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program
- Participate in initiatives associated with the Scarborough Academy of Medicine and Integrated Health (SAMIH)
- Teach, conduct research, and contribute to graduate education within the tri-campus Graduate Department of Statistical Sciences
Requirements
- PhD degree in Statistics or a related area by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter
- Established strength in statistical theory and methods relevant to the health sciences
- Demonstrated capacity to contribute to an undergraduate curriculum in the health sciences, including teaching, research, and mentoring students
- A record of excellence in research, demonstrated through publications, presentations, awards, and strong endorsements from referees
- Evidence of a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and promoting a respectful learning environment
