Job Title: Construction Estimator

Tormax Canada Inc is seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
  • Prepare pre-qualification submissions to present clients
  • Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems
  • Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and bids forms
  • Utilize quantity take-off procedures
  • Advise on tendering procedures
  • Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems
  • Monitor and adjust contract expenditures
  • Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors
  • Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Requirements:
  • Membership in the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors
  • Proficiency in estimating packages, take-off packages, AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
  • Valid driver's licence and own transportation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and team player skills
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a related field
