Economic Content Director: A Key Role at the Bank of Canada

The Bank of Canada is a leading central bank that aims to be dynamic, engaged and trusted. As the Economic Content Director, you will play a crucial role in shaping the bank's communication strategy and content.

This position requires a master's degree in communications, journalism, economics, business, or related subjects, along with seven years of experience in corporate communications or economics and finance, and a minimum of three years of experience in a leadership or managerial role. The ideal candidate will have superior writing skills and an excellent command of content creation tools.

As the Economic Content Director, you will lead a team of speechwriters and work closely with senior bank management and subject-matter experts to produce high-profile communications products. You will also coordinate the planning and workflow of the team and provide strategic communications advice to bank leaders and spokespeople.

The salary range for this position is $147,752 to $173,825 per year (job grade 19). In addition to a competitive salary, the Bank offers flexible benefits, extra vacation days, and the option to join the indexed, defined-benefit pension plan after 24 consecutive months of service.

The hybrid work model allows employees to telework from home for a substantial part of each month, with a minimum of eight days on-site at the bank location. This role is located in Canada and requires the ability to obtain Secret security clearance.

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate strong leadership skills, the ability to interpret and understand bank documents, and excellent communication skills. If you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, you may be given priority consideration for this position.
