We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Engineer at FTS, you will play a critical role in delivering project management expertise to manage major recapitalization and building renovation projects.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Review engineering drawings for any changes to Government's facilities.
  • Oversee and coordinate operations, maintenance, repair, engineering, and inspections of all heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) systems, plumbing equipment, and mechanical rooms.
  • Oversee and coordinate activities with the trade shops, including prioritization of work, review of ongoing projects, and inspection of installed equipment.
  • Oversee and coordinate mechanical work orders, service orders, and projects.
  • Develop cost estimates, documents, and reports.
  • Coordinate energy program and analyze utility costs.
  • Be prepared to serve as 'essential' personnel in the event of an emergency.

Required Skills/Qualifications

You must have:

  • TSA/SCI with Polygraph.
  • A BS degree.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Subject matter expertise in:
  • Project management.
  • Specification writing and shop drawing review.
  • Cost estimating.
  • Operating and maintaining HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

Additional Requirements

You should also have:

  • Experience in using AutoCAD.
  • Managing major building renovations and recapitalization projects.
  • Conducting reviews of engineering drawings.
  • Working in a classified environment.
