The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Professional to join our growing engineering team. As part of this role, you will be responsible for performing mechanical design engineering tasks in both traditional nuclear markets and new initiatives to develop nuclear technology and future nuclear-powered systems.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing mechanical engineering analysis for new and existing nuclear power plants and designs, including small modular and advanced reactors.
  • Conducting condition and performance assessments of mechanical systems and components.
  • Providing field support for design and design modifications, including provision of field engineering.

You will be working within a multi-discipline engineering team, mainly supporting the Engineering design team located at Kinectrics East office in Saint John, New Brunswick.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Candidates are expected to have or to pursue attainment of the P.Eng. designation.
  • Good time management skills and demonstrated capability to interface effectively with and gain the trust of customers.
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant experience is considered necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

You will also need to have knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including but not limited to CSA N285, ASME Section III, Section VIII and B31.1. ASME Section III Appendix XXIII qualification is considered an asset.
