Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Support Coordinator to join our team at Fraser Health. In this role, you will provide administrative support to our healthcare team, ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the healthcare team, including transcribing and processing physician's orders, communicating with other departments and/or hospitals, and coordinating patient appointments.
  • Act as a communication link for the assigned area, contacting other facilities and departments to exchange information regarding bed availability and patient transfers.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, including receiving appointment requests, making follow-up appointments, and adjusting appointments as required.
  • Assemble and maintain patient charts and/or records according to established procedures, including transcribing patient data into applicable health record systems.
  • Perform clerical duties, including data entry, filing, compiling, and preparing statistics and reports.
  • Provide reception duties, including answering the telephone, taking messages, and opening and distributing mail.
  • Maintain timekeeping records for regular and casual staff and submit to the Payroll system as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program, plus one year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Ability to utilize a variety of computer software applications.
