Key Responsibilities:

As a Financial Operations Specialist at BrandSafway, you will oversee and manage the accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments. You will review invoices, verify coding, and process payments according to company policies and procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Analyze freight costs and trends to optimize transportation expenses and timely billing.
  • Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure efficient freight operations.
  • Monitor and report cost and billing analysis on a periodic basis.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up with customers on outstanding invoices.
  • Prepare and meet cash targets and inform management on any risks.
  • Implement collection strategies to minimize past due accounts and improve cash flow.
  • Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve billing disputes and address customer inquiries.
  • Assist in month-end closing procedures, including accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial reports and variance analysis to support management decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Serve as a key point of contact between the finance department and GBS for shared services activities.
  • Coordinate with GBS teams to streamline processes and resolve issues related to financial operations.
  • Provide support and guidance to GBS staff on finance-related matters.
  • Perform revenue reconciliation and analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Collaborate with sales and accounting teams to resolve discrepancies and address revenue recognition issues.
  • Implement controls and procedures to enhance revenue reconciliation processes.
  • Support the Finance Manager in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Participate in ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives to improve business performance.
  • Provide analytical insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial data and trends.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
    • Proven experience as a financial analyst or similar role, preferably in a corporate environment.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in data analysis, and reporting tools.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
    • Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations (GAAP/IFRS).
    • Familiarity with ERP/ Accounting systems and financial software applications.
    • Certification such as CPA, ACCA or CMA is a plus.
    • Spoken and written French Language will be a plus not required.
