We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our Chemistry team in Kelowna, British Columbia. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical and scientific results to our clients using the latest technology.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure sample identification is correct and specimen requirements are met according to established procedures.
- Perform routine testing duties within Chemistry and Hematology, including analyzer maintenance, calibration, QC, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure quality control standards are maintained, investigate missing samples, and perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Record, interpret, and/or approve test results.
- Identify and report incidents and non-conformities.
- You must be a CSMLS-registered Medical Laboratory Technologist in good standing.
- You should have proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook at an intermediate level.
- You should have a solid ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Nice to have: working experience in the Chemistry or Hematology field, knowledge and understanding of Diagnostic Accreditation standards.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
- High visual requirements.
- Repetitive fine motor movements of hands.
- Perform duties in stationary standing/sitting positions.
- Exposure to noise, chemicals, solvents, and bio-hazardous and radioactive materials.
- Shift work required.
