About the Role
This is a permanent, full-time position that requires a high level of clinical and scientific expertise. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality test results and reports to physicians and other healthcare professionals. You will work closely with our Chemistry team to ensure that all testing is performed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine testing duties within Chemistry and Hematology, including analyzer maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure sample identification is correct and specimen requirements are met according to established procedures.
- Record, interpret, and/or approve test results.
- Identify and report incidents and non-conformities.
Requirements
- CSMLS Registration as a practicing Medical Laboratory Technologist in good standing.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook at an intermediate level.
- Solid ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Nice to have: working experience in the Chemistry or Hematology field, knowledge and understanding of Diagnostic Accreditation standards.
Working Conditions
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
- High visual requirements.
- Repetitive fine motor movements of hands.
- Perform duties in stationary standing/sitting positions.
- Exposure to noise, chemicals, solvents, and bio-hazardous and radioactive materials.
- Shift work required.
