About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Strategic Director, Private Investment Advisory to join our team at ATB. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the growth and success of our Private Investment Counsel business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Private Investment Counsel Team: You will be responsible for leading a high-performing team of Private Investment Counselors who manage High Net Worth (HNW) and Institutional clients.
  • Develop and Implement Sales Strategies: You will work closely with our sales teams to develop and implement sales strategies that drive growth and revenue.
  • Provide Expert Guidance: You will provide expert guidance to our Investment Committee on various topics, including strategic asset allocation recommendations, potential new product offerings, and valuable insights into market and economic trends.
  • Manage Budget and Resources: You will be responsible for managing the budget and resources for the Private Investment Counsel group.
  • Model Leadership Behavior: You will model leadership behavior by example and act as a mentor for directors.
Requirements
  • University Degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance or a Related Field
  • CFA Charterholder (Preferred) or CIM
  • 10 or More Years Industry Experience with 5 or More Years Experience in Leadership Roles
  • Ability to Manage a High-Performing Sales Team
  • Effective Communication and Excellent Partnership Skills
  • Ability to Handle Complex Issues and a High Volume of Workload with Varied Time Expectations
  • Strong Technical Investment Knowledge with the Ability to Lead an Investment Committee
  • Broad Knowledge of Asset Allocation Strategies and Macro & Micro Economic Conditions that Impact the Financial Markets
  • Strong Knowledge of Industry Regulation, Specifically the Alberta Securities Commission (ASC)
