About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Habitat Restoration Specialist to join our team at Woodlands North Inc. This is a full-time permanent position that focuses on ecological inventory, site assessments, and restorations. The successful candidate will strategically leverage ecological spatial field data to implement restoration plans for regulatory compliance at the landscape level.

We specialize in environmental inventory and spatial analysis to achieve comprehensive ecological restoration objectives and regulatory compliance. With operations throughout the province of Alberta, we are growing our team of professionals to provide innovative technologies and working solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct safe and efficient project work, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Manage project deliverables and working relationships with our team, management, and clients.
  • Develop and execute continuous improvement initiatives and best practices to enhance our services.
  • Assist the Operations Manager with project scheduling and management.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience in construction environmental oversight, road building, and culvert installations.
  • Knowledge of timber, vegetation, wetlands, watercourses, wildlife, and soils data collection.
  • Knowledge of current restoration best management practices for terrestrial habitat restoration of linear features such as legacy roads and seismic for caribou habitat restoration.
  • University Degree or technical diploma in Forestry or a related field.
  • Professional registration or eligibility in one of Alberta's Professional Regulatory Organizations.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Ability to maintain a valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and demonstrate a safety and customer service focus.
