As a valued member of our team at The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Care Counsellor to join us in providing exceptional support services to our students.

This is a full-time position with an estimated salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

Job Description

We are looking for an individual who possesses a strong background in counselling or education, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be able to provide guidance and support to our students, promote a safe and healthy learning environment, and work collaboratively with our staff and parents/legal guardians.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group support to students, including counseling, care, and supervision
  • Advocate for students internally and externally, coordinating mediation meetings to resolve conflicts
  • Maintain regular communication with parents/legal guardians regarding student wellness and progress
  • Develop and implement administrative procedures to support student care and support
  • Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to Boarding Advisors and Artistic staff
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Psychology, Social Work, Social Sciences, Humanities, or a related field
  • Background in Counselling or Education
  • Supervisory or management experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of child welfare and development, ASIST certification, and valid driver's license required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to assess student services and improve delivery
