We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Commission Scolaire Central Quebec / Central Quebec School Board. As a key member of our day care service, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for our students.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and conduct a series of activities that promote the overall development of students in preschool and elementary school, while ensuring their health and safety.
- Organize and lead sports, cultural, leisure, and recreational activities, both indoors and outdoors, in accordance with the program and educational intervention strategies.
- Assist students in dressing and undressing, record student attendance, and ensure the supervision and safety of students in compliance with the rules of conduct, safety measures, and recommendations of parents.
- Administer first aid and, if necessary, administer medications according to medical requirements and the school's policy and the parents' instructions.
- Maintain order and ensure the cleanliness of the premises and upkeep of material and equipment.
- Participate in meetings organized by the day care service technician as regards the organization and operation of the day care service.
- Attend information meetings intended for parents and participate in meetings to draw up an individualized education plan.
- Assist the day care service technician in carrying out certain administrative tasks and use a computer and various software to perform duties.
- Train new day care service educators and perform any other related duties as required.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A strong background in early childhood education and experience working with children in a day care setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with parents, teachers, and other staff members.
- Ability to plan and implement engaging and educational activities that promote the overall development of students.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for students.
This is a full-time position, working approximately 35 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and occasional evenings.
