Brock University is seeking a highly skilled Academic Advisor/Communications Coordinator to join our team in the Geography and Tourism Studies department. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional academic advising and communications support to students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality academic advising to undergraduate students in the Geography and Tourism Studies program, including transfer, international, and exchange students.
- Monitor student progress, conduct degree audits, and coordinate LOP applications and transfer credits.
- Support events and recruitment initiatives, and monitor the registration system.
- Coordinate communications for the department, including the website, social media, and promotional materials.
- Undergraduate degree in a related discipline (Geography, Tourism Studies, Environmental Studies/Science).
- Knowledge of a university environment and academic advising principles.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to promote the department's research, teaching, and community engagement.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to interact effectively with diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Undergraduate degree in Geography, Tourism, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of social media and website management.
- Experience developing and executing events.
- Job Grade (K), Salary Scale ($57,400-$98,400).
- Target Hiring Range: $57,400 - $82,000.
- Full comprehensive benefits, including tuition waiver.
