Executive Director

The Executive Director is responsible for the effective leadership and management of ICCE, aligning with the strategic directions set by the Board of Directors.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and oversee overall operations, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, budgets, capital assets, and programming services.
- Develop and implement policies, programs, and strategic activities to further develop ICCE, in collaboration with the Board and staff.
- Partner with academic institutions, industry, and other jurisdictions to leverage funding and capacity.
- Collaborate with Indigenous communities, taking a holistic approach to manage ICCE's operations and ensure community priorities are reflected.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote ICCE to Indigenous communities across Canada.
- Maintain relationships of trust with Indigenous communities and other partners.
- Oversee the hiring, training, and performance management of ICCE staff.
- Engage with Indigenous communities and organizations to identify and recruit ICCE Board Members.
- Develop and provide policy recommendations for the Board's consideration.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience as an Executive Director or senior management position, preferably in a not-for-profit environment or resource management sector.
- Experience in developing partnerships and leading initiatives with Indigenous organizations and communities.
- Knowledge of provincial, territorial, and federal environmental/impact assessment laws and land use planning regimes.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both official languages.
