About the Role
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our team at qathet General Hospital in Powell River, BC. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will work in a multi-disciplinary setting to provide respiratory care to clients with tracheostomies and various illnesses or diseases.
Key Responsibilities
- Practice in accordance with the standards of professional practice as outlined by the Health Professionals Testing Canada (HPTC) and within a client and family-centred care model.
- Work without general supervision to perform ongoing respiratory care, including the assessment and treatment of clients with respiratory illnesses or diseases.
- Enhance quality of life from the perspective of the client and family.
- Consult, confer, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- Maintain and advance your own clinical competence through ongoing education and professional development.
- Participate in committees, teams, and approved research projects as assigned.

Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
- Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care Credentialing Exam.
- Eligibility for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists and BC Society of Respiratory Therapists.
- Completion of additional coursework and clinical training in the conduct of ECG, Holter Monitor, and Stress Tests.
