About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our team at Intact Financial Corporation. As a key member of our database team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our database systems to ensure optimal performance and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement database systems to meet business requirements
  • Develop and maintain database security protocols to protect sensitive data
  • Monitor and analyze database performance to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and maintain accurate system documentation to ensure knowledge sharing and transfer
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of strategic, architectural, and tactical plans for the database
  • Provide technical leadership on database systems and solutions
  • Provide individual mentoring and training on databases and tools
  • Recommend, test, and evaluate new technologies, software tools, and required skill sets
  • Implement and maintain a Business Continuity solution for the database environment
  • Develop and maintain high-value scripts to automate database administration tasks

Requirements

  • 10 years minimum IT experience
  • 5 to 10 years working with DB2 LUW
  • Experience working with AIX/Linux
  • Relevant history of scripting (Korn shell)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Windows desktop tools
  • Bilingualism is required for candidates located in Quebec
