About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Winter Maintenance Crew Member to join our team at Miller Paving Limited. As a key member of our winter maintenance crew, you will be responsible for safely operating a spreader, plow wing, combo unit and/or tow plow, performing snow removal on local roads and highways as per the contract requirements.

Your day-to-day tasks will include maintaining accurate documentation such as fuel reports, safety reports, and hours of service, as well as conducting routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment. You will also familiarize yourself with route maps and sand/salt application rates, ensuring efficient and effective snow removal operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate heavy equipment, including spreaders, plow wings, combo units, and tow plows
  • Maintain accurate records of fuel consumption, safety incidents, and equipment maintenance
  • Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Familiarize yourself with route maps and sand/salt application rates to optimize snow removal operations
Requirements
  • DZ or AZ license with a clean driver's abstract required
  • Available to respond to call-ins within thirty minutes
  • Ability to work assigned shifts, extended hours (evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays) as winter events require
  • Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to drive manual transmission
  • Previous experience in winter-works operations
  • Mechanical knowledge, ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment as required
  • Good understanding of MTO standards and AMC Contract Performance Requirements
