Position Summary:
- This position reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for supervising a shift of hourly associates, focusing on safety, quality, and production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of production employees as direct reports
- Collaborate with scheduling, maintenance, and production personnel to ensure efficient operations
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for setup and start-up changeovers with maintenance involvement
- Contribute to developing metrics for tracking progress and improvement efforts, working towards targets using these metrics
- Promote crew engagement and participation in plant improvement processes, such as JH&SC meetings, 6S projects, and Continuous Improvement team activities
- Provide and/or participate in training as required
- Apply policies, rules, and collective agreements fairly and consistently
- Serve as a positive example in adhering to the Westlake Code of Business Ethics and Workplace Harassment/Discrimination Policy
- Provide vacation coverage for the shift supervisor when possible
- Lead special projects related to production or technical aspects as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Three to five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- A self-motivated individual with strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, based on industry standards and location considerations.
