Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Unit at Trillium Health Partners. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, education, and coaching to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care, teaching, and coaching to patients and their families
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Responsible for the provision of nursing care in accordance with the standards of nursing practice and THP Best Practices Protocols

Requirements:

  • Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) or currently meet the eligibility criteria to register in good standing in the Temporary Class or General Class with the CNO
  • A current annual certificate of competency with the College of Nurses Ontario
  • Able to function to the full scope of practice as per CNO
  • Medication Certificate and experience with administration of medication within the last year required
  • Previous experience working in an acute medical/surgical setting with sound patient care nursing skills (IV therapy, wound care, etc.)
  • Minimum 1 year experience in surgery required
  • Recent cardio/vascular surgery experience preferred
  • Current Coronary Care Level 1 Certificate or successful completion within six (6) months of hire required
  • Current ECG Rhythm Interpretation Course or successful completion within twelve (12) months required
  • Patient physical assessment course required
  • Experience with patient-centered and partnership care models
  • Must have effective interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable and flexible individual who is willing to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team environment
  • Positive attendance and work record essential
