Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Amazon Full time

We are seeking an experienced Technical Leader to join our team in Vancouver, where you will be responsible for designing and launching new features to help customers build and manage their mission-critical global applications.

As a key member of our Route 53 team, you will lead a world-class team that owns the design and development of new Route 53 features and services. You will work closely with senior leadership to develop and launch high-quality services that meet the needs of our customers.

Our service powers most of Amazon retail operations and a significant portion of the Internet. We operate in over 50 locations worldwide and provide advanced functionality such as latency-based routing (LBR), Private DNS, Geo DNS routing, DNS failover, and integration with a plethora of AWS services. On top of that, we offer fast change propagation with a 100% availability SLA.

You will be responsible for making tough prioritization decisions, iterating and innovating, and thinking through distributed systems problems. You need to be technically deep, able to communicate clearly, and have the ability to build a strong team that delivers results.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience, 3+ years of engineering team management experience, and knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle. They should also have experience partnering with product or program management teams, communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.

This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every three months. We offer flexibility in working hours and encourage you to find your own balance between your work and personal lives.

We are committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or other legally protected status.

The estimated salary range for this position is $171,400/year up to $286,200/year, based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a competitive salary, Amazon offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, financial, and other benefits.
