We are seeking a medical consultant to provide expert psychiatric consultation and support to our Employee Benefit Plans team. As a medical consultant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and fair assessment of disability claims related to psychiatric conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert psychiatric consultation to the Employee Benefits Team regarding disability income plan benefits.
  • Evaluate and assess medical documentation related to psychiatric conditions for disability claims.
  • Collaborate with other medical consultants and benefits administrators to ensure accurate and fair assessment of disability claims.
  • Offer guidance on complex psychiatric, mental health and addiction cases and provide recommendations for benefit determinations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to psychiatric disability claims.
Requirements
  • Doctorate (MD) or equivalent degree in Medicine.
  • Certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Psychiatry and in good standing.
  • Relevant clinical experience in the psychiatry field and demonstrated knowledge of mental health and addictions medicine.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in psychiatry.
Salary and Benefits
