Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical System Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, and control panels, to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
- Electrical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical issues in machinery, sensors, transmitters, and other equipment to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
- PLC Programming and Troubleshooting: Program, troubleshoot, and optimize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other control systems to enhance efficiency and precision in mill processes.
- Safety Protocols: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when working with electrical systems to maintain a safe working environment.
- Electrical Safety Hazard Identification: Identify and address electrical safety hazards within the mill environment to maintain a safe working atmosphere.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and breakdowns to minimize downtime.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other maintenance and operations personnel to coordinate electrical repairs and maintenance activities.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to convey information about electrical systems and potential improvements.
Requirements:
- Red Seal or Interprovincial TQ: Possess a Red Seal or Interprovincial trade qualification in electrical work.
- PLC Experience: Have a strong background in PLC setup and troubleshooting.
- Heavy Industry Experience: Possess a solid background in heavy industry and construction.
