Key Responsibilities

Repairs and Maintenance

  • Assist the Facilities Manager in developing and prioritizing a list of repairs and maintenance tasks
  • Ensure that facilities are well-maintained and in good working order
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work
  • Use hand and power tools to complete tasks
  • Be fiscally responsible and find cost-effective solutions

Projects and Improvements

  • Assist the Facilities Manager in developing creative solutions for staff needs
  • Identify areas for improvement and suggest solutions
  • Schedule and coordinate contractors as needed
  • Provide quality control supervision to contractors
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed

Work Area and Tools

  • Keep the maintenance work area clean and organized
  • Ensure that tools are properly cared for and stored

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed
  • Assist other facilities personnel with routine maintenance and repairs
  • Participate in on-call rotation for evenings and weekends
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • Full Valid Class 5 Driver's License

Working Conditions

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
  • Work location: 300 Princess Street & 210 Evanson Street
  • On-call rotation for evenings and weekends
