Academic Instructor

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Academic Instructor to join our team at Ontario Tech University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a theoretically sophisticated and relevant course at the university level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a technology-enhanced learning approach that includes a variety of inclusive teaching and learning strategies and assessments.
- Prepare, deliver, and grade all course material and assignments.
- Be available for consultation with students during and following completion of the course session.
Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in education is required.
- A Bachelor's degree in science & technology or other relevant area of study is required.
- A member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers is required.
- A PhD is an asset.
Experience:
- Successful teaching within the K to 6 classroom context.
- Successful infusion of technologies in practice as purposeful teaching tools for, as, and of learning in the mathematics classroom.
- Demonstrated evidence-based, or research-informed practice.
Required Skills:
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to maintain effective relationships with a range of faculty, staff, and students.
- Excellent organizational skills in order to effectively manage course delivery, the marking of assignments, and the ability to respond to student enquiries in a timely manner.
- Evidence of successful teaching, including via appropriately challenging inquiry- or problem-based lessons, at the pre-service and/or K to 6 levels.
