**Alliance for Arts and Culture Overview**

The Inuit Art Foundation is dedicated to empowering Inuit artists working in all media and geographic areas, increasing public access to and awareness of their work.

We provide emerging and established artists with tools and programming to chart the course of their own careers, including training and mentorship opportunities, access to markets, and help accessing grant opportunities for visual and performing artists.

In this role, you will play a key leadership part in ensuring the organization operates efficiently, sustainably, and in alignment with its mission and values.

Responsibilities:

  • Support in employee recruitment, employment, and release with the Executive Director, Human Resources, and Management team.
  • Work with staff and Board to prepare budgets and ensure timely financial reports to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
  • Develop short and long-term objectives to ensure productivity and accountability with the leadership team.
  • Evaluate operational activities and related procedures for efficiency and clarity.
  • Develop systems for effective collaboration and communication across the organization.
  • Ensure financial procedures are properly documented and followed.
  • Oversee annual external audits and statutory filings.
  • Contribute to grant writing and fundraising documentation as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the context the Inuit Art Foundation works within, including Inuit artistic practice, culture, and ways of being, international art trends, and non-profit governance requirements.
  • Understanding and awareness of Inuit and Indigenous/Northern lived experiences.
  • Experience in team leadership and Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
  • Strong written communication and editing skills.
  • Professional, respectful, and effective communication skills.
  • Sound judgment, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective organization, coordination, and planning skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or certificate in Arts, Business/Public Administration, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years' experience working in a similar role, with experience working in an Indigenous organization or community or Indigenous-focused role within a larger institution.
