Director, Property Management

Our client, a leading Real Estate Developer in Kelowna, seeks a seasoned professional to lead their Property Management team as Director of Property Management. Reporting to the Vice President of Property Management, the successful candidate will oversee the management of both residential and commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide on-the-ground leadership and oversee daily operational activities with direct reports and other stakeholders.
  • Optimize systems and processes, working closely with senior leaders to provide recommendations for cost-effective operational enhancements.
  • Oversee leasing, market research, maintenance, budgeting, compliance to regulatory bodies, preventative maintenance, and asset management for assigned properties.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures to align with business growth.
  • Lead a positive work environment and foster strong relationships with staff, tenants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage employee staffing, development, and retention strategies.
  • Facilitate departmental training and education on legislation revisions.
  • Negotiate operational/service contracts and monitor compliance.
  • Establish guidelines to maximize customer service, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Provide on-site back-up coverage and on-call duties as required.

Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant field.
  • 7+ years of property management experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership capacity.
  • Proficiency in Yardi Voyageur is an asset.
  • Competency in MS Office and relevant databases and software.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial reporting, budget planning, and forecasting.
  • Solid strategic problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and prioritize competing demands.
  • CPM or RPA certification is an asset.

Remuneration:
Competitive base pay, variable pay, annual merit pay increases, paid vacation, a comprehensive benefit plan, a matching RRSP plan, a general education and training program, and more. The base salary range for this position is $110,000 to $140,000, depending on candidate experience and qualifications.
