Job Title: Long Haul Truck Driver

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team at Ontario Inc. As a Long Haul Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across the country, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and adjust routes based on changing conditions to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of goods.
  • Load and unload goods, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Obtain special permits and documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Perform brake adjustments, emergency roadside repairs, and pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch, maintaining effective communication.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Tarping and ensuring the safety and security of cargo.
  • Transport and handle dangerous goods, adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements:

  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
  • Accident or incident reports, bill of lading, driver logbook, inspection report, and trip reports.
  • Flatbed, refrigerated, tractor-trailer, and tractor-trailer B train experience.
  • GPS and other navigation equipment operation.
  • Long-haul transportation experience.
  • Driving record check (abstract).
  • Attention to detail, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, sitting, and weight handling.
  • Efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, judgment, organized, reliability, and team player.
  • Will train.
  • On the road job.
