Job Title: Durability Engineer

About the Role:

The Durability Engineer will be responsible for conducting durability tests using MTS real-time hydraulically actuated simulators and data acquisition systems. This involves coordinating test specimen build, setting up data acquisition systems, simulator performance tuning and operation, data processing, daily durability test inspections/reporting, communicating test results to Product Engineering, attending test issue reporting meetings, and assisting in conducting durability issue investigations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate test specimen build and data acquisition system setup
  2. Operate MTS real-time hydraulically actuated simulators and data acquisition systems
  3. Process and analyze test data
  4. Communicate test results to Product Engineering and attend test issue reporting meetings
  5. Assist in conducting durability issue investigations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/Aeronautical Engineering
  • Experience with data acquisition equipment using various transducers
  • Understanding of damage severity analysis and stress-life/load-life calculations
  • Competent with Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Strong time management, leadership, planning, and follow-up skills
  • Excellent written and oral skills
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of engineering experience within a testing environment within the automotive industry

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/Aeronautical Engineering
  • Hydraulically actuated testing experience using MTS RPC Pro/FlexTest software
  • Experience with nCode and Somat eDAQ equipment
  • Previous CANBUS experience
  • Strain gauge theory and application

Work Environment:
